COMPRESSION=[ALL | DATA_ONLY | METADATA_ONLY | NONE]
ALL: Tùy chọn này cho phép nén toàn bộ quá trình xuất dữ liệu. Tùy chọn TẤT CẢ yêu cầu tùy chọn Nén Nâng cao của Oracle phải được bật.
DATA_ONLY: - Tùy chọn này chỉ nén dữ liệu trong tệp sao lưu, không nén siêu dữ liệu. Tùy chọn này cũng yêu cầu tùy chọn Nén nâng cao của Oracle phải được bật.
METADATA_ONLY: - Tùy chọn này chỉ nén siêu dữ liệu trong tệp sao lưu, không nén dữ liệu. Đây là tùy chọn mặc định, có nghĩa là nếu bạn không chỉ định bất kỳ tùy chọn nào, theo mặc định, nó sẽ chỉ nén siêu dữ liệu.
NONE: - Tùy chọn này sẽ vô hiệu hóa tính năng nén cho toàn bộ quá trình xuất dữ liệu.
Xin lưu ý rằng việc xuất dữ liệu có nén sẽ mất nhiều thời gian hơn so với xuất dữ liệu thông thường không nén, vì quá trình nén dữ liệu có thể mất thời gian hơn. Việc nén dữ liệu là cần thiết khi gặp vấn đề về dung lượng lưu trữ.
Có một vài hạn chế cần lưu ý trước khi sử dụng tham số COMPRESSION trong expdp.
- Tham số khởi tạo COMPATIBLE phải được đặt tối thiểu là 11.0.0, nhưng tùy chọn METADATA_ONLY vẫn có thể được sử dụng ngay cả khi tham số khởi tạo COMPATIBLE được đặt là 10.2.
- Việc nén dữ liệu bằng ALL hoặc DATA_ONLY chỉ hợp lệ trong phiên bản Enterprise Edition của Oracle Database 11g trở lên. Điều này yêu cầu tùy chọn Oracle Advanced Compression phải được bật.
